Following a first round exit at the hands of the newest MRFHL Champion the Florida Pathers, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager for the Boston Bruins wasted little time re-tooling his roster in preparation for the upcoming MRFHL season.

The Boston Bruins sent shock waves throghout the MRFHL by trading away both Henrik and Daniel Sedin. In a suprise move the Bruins shipped the Sedin's along with goalie prospect Chet Pickard off to the Buffalo Sabers in exchange for Bryan Little, Dimitri Kulikov and Derek Roy. It appears this was to be the first of many trades - providing the Bruins with additional finanical flexibility to sign coveted unrestricted free agent Henrik Zetterberg whom they acquire in a trade prior to last years deadline and who was a chief reason the Bruins were able to stretch the series to game seven.

The primary reason for their lack of post season success has been identified by Bruins GM as a lack of depth, primarily on the bottom two lines. "The playoffs are won in the trenches. All four lines must be firing on all cylinders to go all the way. We simily relied on our top two lines all year and as a result when they went cold we found ourselves golfing."

Shortly after, the Boston Bruins, whom have been fervently drafting the past few seasons and have had very good success at the draft decided it was time to move some future talent for some present. The Bruins acquired 20 year old Brandon Saad who broke out this year in Dallas in exchange for promising young defense prospect Matthew Finn and Boston Bruins 1st Round Pick in this years entry draft slated to be the 16th overall. "To be honest Mark and I were having dinner and watching the MRFHL finals and I inquired about Brandon's availability and he told me what he was looking for and by the end of our beer we had a handshake agreement - its funny how these things come about."

The Bruins are expected to start the 2013-14 MRFHL season experimenting with line combinations and it is expected  high flying John Tavares and Patrick Kane will assume top line duties.  Brandon Saad is expected to help anchor the second line along side captain Jonathan Toews.  Brandon Saad has been a welcomed addition to the Boston Bruins organization who have been looking to shore up the wing-positions.

The Bruins continued to be active and in a very informal trade conference yesterday with a majority of MRFHL General Managers in attendence he continued to make changes. The first trade came early in the evening with their original six rivals the Montreal Canadian's and newly appointed GM Stephane Boudreau. The Canadians recieved Mika Zibanejad, EDM 2 and DAL 5 in the upcoming entry draft in exchange the Bruins recieved Filip Forsberg, MTL 1 in next years draft along with MTL 3 in the upcoming MRFHL entry draft.  "We like MIka alot, hes going to be a fantastic player for Montreal, its a shame we will be seeing alot of him but we needed to address the future of our club. We feel we have been blessed with some very good young centermen and we wanted  to give Mika a shot at being the number one we know he will turn out to be." Later in the evening the Boston Bruins secured Robyn Regehr and prospect Duncan Seimens from the Buffalo Sabers in exchange for Adam Larsson.  With Regehr the Boston Bruins solidify their back end getting a very defensive minded player who will play big minutes and be a leader on the ice and in the dressing room.  Despite losing one of their most promising defencemen in the system the Bruins acquire gritty defence prospect Duncan Siemens whom was one of the youngest players at his draft in 2011. Although the departure of Larsson will be tough for Boston fans, they can sleep easy at night knowing they still many promising defenders in the pipeline helpig to solidfy their blueline for years to come. John Moore, Justin Schultz and Jonas Brodin are expected to make a push for the big club while Ryan Murray, Morgan Reilley will both have to patiently wait their turns.
