*****BREAKING NEWS***** 2014-07-24 Late last night, the New York Rangers and winger Joel Ward agreed to terms on a three year contract paying the winger a total of 13 million. It is believed that a portion of that is a Signing Bonus and that the annual salary is less than 4 million per season. Rangers released the following statement: "We have made no secret of our desire to retain Joel for the next few years. What he brings to the table is a steady presence, a good player at both ends of the ice and work ethic that the younger guys in the organization can aspire to emulate." In other news, the sign and trade of C/W Joe Pavelski is now complete. Pavelski signs a 4 year deal at 6 million per with a SB that will be covered by the New York Rangers.
