Source: Hainsey to return to Columbus 2017-09-14 The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed veteran defenseman Ron Hainsey to a 3-year deal. This is according to reports from wire sources close to the Columbus management team. The 36-year old rearguard was not expected to return to Columbus. GM Thomas Gidlow stated in previous releases that the likelihood was low that Hainsey would suit up for the Jackets next season. The deal reportedly is worth $9 million over three years, and will see Hainsey likely retire as a Blue Jacket. More as it develops. AP
