Jets offseason update

2019-08-05

The Jets finsihed another Stellar year in Winnipeg.  This was there 2nd year in a row where they lost in the Cup Finals.  Hoping 3rd times the charm this Season.   The Jets have tried to keep the main core of the guys together that have helped get them to the last 2 cup finals.

Draisaitl inked a 4 year extension worth 8.85M per Season.  Ryan Ellis  has been confirmed to accepted a 4 year deal worth 6.85M per season. Lindholm and Teravainen as well signed up for another 3 more years.  Colton Parayko also signed on for another year with the Jets. Hes sure to cash in on a longer term next summer.

Rumour has it that the Jets are working hard on getting David Perron to sign an extension.

The Jets traded for Defensive Winger Markus Granlund this summer.  The Jets sent the Coyotes a 5th rounder and Kurashev.  Granlund was brought in to help the Jets 3rd line, as it looks like Patrick Maroon will be testing the UFA market.

The Draft went good for the Jets as they drafted a top d pairing prospect in phillip broberg, a solid skilled top 6 forward in Raphael Lavoie.   The Jets also got a potential starter in Illya Konalav.  As well they drafted Nicholas Robertson who has been recently traded for Prospect D man Nils Lundqvist.

The Jets were wanting to add to the Defensive prospect pool and felt this was a good guy to take.  Nils looks like a safe bet to be  a top 4 defender.  Between the Last few drafts now, the Jets have a nicely stocked set of prospects to keep the future going in Winnipeg in all areas.
