Rivalry Brewing?

2009-12-06

Going into last nights game between the Devils and Panthers, it didn't seem like it would be that interesting of a game. Two teams that were dusters battling it out for the last place sport in the league, not something many would like to make claim too. The game started off like any other would, with the Devils getting the first goal. To your surprise, GM Bennett was thrilled with this as he would have bragging rights over Fellow GM and good friend at school in real life, Dylan Wilson. Things would certainly spice up only 2 minues after this goal.

Playing a team with 8 goons on it, you know something is bound to go down. And that is exactly what happened. A total of 3 fights broke out causing an on ice melee as the Devils goon like had finally got some playing time. Fighting for the Panthers were former Devil himself David Clarkson, Wayne Primeau, and Mark Bell. FIghting for the Devils were Cam Janssen, Jody Shelley, and Colton Orr. 3 of the best heavyweights in the NHL and MRFHL today. The rivalry has been fueled.

The Devils although losers on the scoreboard this night, would be winners on the fighting card. Cam Janssen beat up dancing partner David Clarkson and Jody Shelley beat up his dancing partner Mark Bell. Colton Orr and Wayne Primeau both danced to a draw. Adding salt to the wound, Mr. Bell would also be getting a game ejection from this fight for reasons unknown.

3 Dances in the first period. It almost broke out again as Daniel Carcillo went after some of the Panthers players, especially J.S. Giguere playing his last game with the Panthers. He was notified on the bench that he would have to pack up his bags. But back to Carcillo, fortunately for the refs, they caught him before he caused any more shenanigans just slightly into the 2nd period. If he had of gotten his way, more fireworks would have went off between these two teams.

It is unknown how many penalty minutes were amassed during the game, but sources say combined, around 100 penalty minutes in all were dished out in the game, between misconducts, minors and the fighting majors. Theres certainly a lot more fight between these two bottom dwellars then most of the league thought.
