Grinders Wanted.

2013-10-28

Earlier this month a group of researchers and subject matter experts released the MRFHL Divisional Reviews. In their review they provided commentary, predictions and in-depth review of each organization. In Boston, the media went wild over the recently published Bruins review.  Although the Daigle Divisional Preview praised the organization efforts towards building a contender the Boston media was most interested in some of the criticism which came out of the review.

The paper cited the Bruins inability to get over the hump was not due to the lack of firepower and talent in the top six or back end rather the constant rotating bottom six forwards. It went on to suggest: ".... a third or fourth line player can make a team (Boston) a contender, but that could be exactly what this Bruins team needs to realize (and come in to) its full potential."  The bottom six dificincies of the Boston Bruins have been well documented and this review provided the Boston media with more fuel for their fire. The Boston Bruins General Manager grudgingly spoke to the media after making many attempting not to, he said " We know what our weakness' are and we have been activily trying to address them for some time. Unfortunatly right now the league as a whole in both dialogue and activity is quiet. We need to be patient in hope some GM's will pick up their phones and return our call."  This could be one reason why the Bruins elected to shuffle their roster recently, placing Mikael Samulesson on waivers making additional room for  Eric Tangradi and T.J. Galliardi.

Despite his best efforts the Boston media wants to see a proven vetern presence to help stabalize the third line. Speculation that the media pressure finally forced GM Valentes hand as earlier this evening  the Bruins traded away Alex Burmistrov to Carolina for a 3rd round pick in the upcoming entry draft.  The Daigle Preview  was highly critical over the recent play of Alex citing: "Torres or an Ott would definitely be an upgrade over Burmistrov, Panik, or Beleskey."   The Bruins GM fervently denied the Daigle Preview had any weight in his descision to move Alex Burmistrov: "This move was something in the works for a couple weeks now. I have been in contact with Gerwal for some time and we recently recieved a message citing he was ready to move forward with the deal. We had already shuffled the roster up and Alex - unfortunatly was the odd man. This was the right move for both parties, sending him somewhere he would get more ice time and help a young club out."
