1st Place Blues

Missouri has been in good spirits lately in relation to hockey as the St Louis Blues have landed in 1st place in the MRFHL at the Christmas break. Surprising to some but not to this writer who is confident that the Blues are the greatest team ever assembled in any sport ever.

Led by 1st overall pick Vincent “the Michael Jordan of Hockey” Lecavalier, Vinny has been the moral and spiritual leader of the Blues. But it doesn’t end there! Kyle Wellwood has gone from borderline AHL’er to first line contributor on the Blues, knocking 12 goals into the next in 33 games this season.

On defence, the formidable duo of Sergei Gonchar and JM Liles strike fear into the hearts of MRFHL coaches with their blinding speed and evasive puckhandling. Gonchar has an amazing 28 points in 33 games for the blue notes. As well, notable prospect Michal “the Michal Jordan of Hockey” Jordan has been a young sparkplug for the defence when slotted in.

Even the most skeptical MRFHL Fan need only look at the lineup to see what a powerhouse of offence St Louis is. It’s a veritable who’s that of hockey today:
