Rangers move Parise

The New York Rangers traded winger Zach Parise to the Carolina Hurricanes for Jamie McGinn and UFA to be Matt Carle who they are not expected to re-sign.

"Zach was a solid soldier for us during his time here, but with a few guys that are stepping up and others needing contracts, we felt it was important to make the tough choice and give ourselves some financial flexibility to re-sign some of our guys and be able to bring guys in if and when possible."
