The Curious Case Of Cale Makar
2026-02-03
His name is Cale Makar. A young man who hails from the land of ice & snow known as Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Some may also know him as one of the most elite players to ever lace them up & play the noble position of Defence. He landed in Long Island only a season ago but it appears that chapter is coming to a grand finale this season.
As inflation plagues the world around the Merf & the Soviet management begins to count their rubles, organize their pennies it appears a change was potentially on the horizon within the club. Suddenly it happened... 1 fabled evening in July the wheels were in motion. Cale Makar's name began popping up in rumours as he was potentially available... For the right price.
Fast track into November buzz became reality as Makar officially hit the block & GM Jacklin began to see the offers tabled from the league. Some stronger more current based while others designed to bring a mix of futures & current. The reactions were viral across the league as GM Jacklin felt the time was now. Our prime corresponded Ribbi Shibbi was able to gather a few quotes from some annonymous GM's across the league
Western GM: Fuck off he's not trading Makar
Eastern GM: He's just playing the long game here! There's not way Robby is gonna do it! Not Cale!
Western GM: I personally think he should trade Quinn Hughes myself but it's Robby. Anything is possible!
Eastern GM: He'll never do it. Soviet Islanders just want the attention from the masses! I've seen the contract extension!
Eastern GM: They say Cale might've slept with Trevor Zegras's Mom resulting in all this beginning last summer at their summer BBQ.
What became apparent as things have progressed through the season is Makar is on the move & only time will tell when exaclty the buzz becomes reality. GM Jacklin is rumoured to have 4 offers on the table under serious consideration to make this move & deadlines have been laid out for when Makar Day will come! The question on everyones mind still remains at the top: "Will he stay or will he go now & where"
Live on location I'm Ribbi Shibbi signing off for Soviet Fox News live outside the Soviet Centre in New York.
"The doubt across the league that Makar will actually be moved has never been higher" says one eastern conference GM from the Daigle division who spoke under the the guise of anonymity but admitted Jacklin once teased trading Erik Cernak to his team only to not pull the trigger.
