Shake Up In Beantown

2010-10-28

Big changes in Beantown as top scorer for the Bruins last year, Alexander Semin and prospect Michael Stone to Columbus Blue Jackets. Coming to Boston in return is Right Winger Kyle Okposo and blue liner Zach Bogosian.

For the first 7 games the Bruins have been mediocre at best in both ends of the rink. As Boston as struggled so has Semin, a player looked to score goals has only 1 goal in the first 7 games.

Some critics saw this a knee jerk reaction the recent on ice woes. Though the Bruins got off to a hot start opening the season 3-0-1 but then went on to lose the next three straight falling to 3-3-1.

GM Valente assures that this is not a reaction to Boston’s recent performance. “We feel this move will help to address our current defensive deficiencies and continue our long-term outlook for success.”

Alexander Semin looked sad to leave Boston but was optimistic about the move. “What can I say it’s a shock. It’s sad to leave Boston but I look forward to playing for Columbus. I feel there is a lot of opportunity there. It’s part of the business.”

Rumor mill suggest Boston isn’t done yet and that there are some players that have recently caught the ire of coach Clouston who might be on their way out.
