Bruins Stay on Course

2010-11-13

One week ago the Boston Bruins traded for John Tavares. In the process GM Valente believes he has solidified the future of the Boston Bruins. In a number of trades following he Tavares trade GM Valente continues his balancing of keeping competitive.

“We are going to stay competitive. We have moved some good players these past two weeks but for us the chemistry was not there, we lacked heart and effort to get to those lose pucks and grind it out on the boards.”

Defense was a big concern for the Bruins but with the addition of Andrei Markov they feel they finally got that lucrative top notch defenseman they were looking for. Markov will be an integral part of the success of the Bruins and will be looked upon to quarterback their power-play.

When the dust has settled the Bruins have compiled one of the youngest rosters in the MRFHL. Despite their limited experience they have gone on a tear to win the last 3 straight games and the first time they have been above .500 since the beginning of the season. Their future continues to look bright with the addition of Tomas Tatar and Jonathan Bernier added. The defense core of Markov, Ehrhoff and Schultz provide time for younger players like Bogosian, Alzner, Russell, Campoli and Hillen to grow in to their own.

Rumor Mill: With the departure of depth players, it is speculated that GM Valente will use some of the picks and younger defensemen to pick up some veteran leadership and top six forwards to help out with some secondary scoring.
