Jets acquire Erik Johnson

The Jets have traded for a top pairing D man to load up for a playoff run, and will help in the future as well.    Erik Johnson comes to Winnipeg where he becomes the #1 D man for the Jets.  

The Jets Shipped out the JETS  1st 2015, 4th 2015 and Niklas Hjalmarsson  for Erik Johnson.

"He can log a ton of minutes, is excellent in his own zone, very good Defensivley, can throw checks, and also put up points.   We have been looking for a top D for a while.   He is is signed for 4 years and only 26 years old.   We can see EJ being part of this organization for a long time.   Also he has a very cap friendly salary right now.   We are excited to bring EJ here, We feel he is just hitting his Prime as a top D man in this league."  Says Schurman

The Jets may look at another upgrade on blueline, or 3rd line LW spot before Deaddline.  But Schurman is content to not make any moves, as he is happy with this group heading into the playoffs.     The Jets  could shop  Robidas, Zadorov (packaged for a #2 dman.)    Teddy Purcell is also rumored to be on the block.
