Jets Advance to West Finals
2015-05-26The Winnipeg Jets advanced the the West Finals tonight. The Playoffs featured the Jets vs. Chi in round 1. These 2 teams finished 2nd and 3rd in there division with the Jets having 107 pts and the Hawks with 104. These clubs battled back and forth all series long, but in the end the Jets defeated the Hawks in a tough 7 games.
The 2nd Round featured the Jets taking on Blues. St.Louis was the best team in the West, and 2nd overall in the league, with 113 pts. This was another back and forth series, going all the way to Game 7. However this Game 7 needed Overtime. David Backes ended the game less then 3 minutes in to stun the Blues and its hometown crowd.
The Jets have now got home ice advantage for the Western Conference Finals, playing against the Los Angeles Kings. Looks like this will be another back and forth series, as not much seperated these 2 teams The Kings had 101 Pts this season, only 6 pts back of the Jets.
"I'm Very excited right now with making it to the West Finals We have made such great progress over the years here. The Fans are going off the walls here right now. But we gotta focus now on the Kings and keep this thing going!!" Says Schurman.
