Rocked You Like A Hurricane!

2016-11-12

-Raleigh, NC.

After a long, 6-game road trip to start off the season that saw Carolina go 2-3-1, the 'Canes returned home in style by beating the New York Rangers by a score of 6-2 in front of 16, 725. Henrik Sedin was at the forefront of the offense as he registered 3 assists through the first two periods before adding a pair of goals in the third period to finish with 5 points on the night. The always reliable and somewhat underrated Cory Schneider was strong once again in his 7th start of the season, stopping 35 shots by the final buzzer.

"After such a long start to the season, it was nice to get that win in front of the home crowd" said coach Willie Desjardins, "obviously, we still have some work to do as we cannot be giving up the 30+ shots we have been giving up thus far into the season". The Hurricanes are currently placed last in their division despite having a .500 record.

"I've said right from my hiring at the beginning of this season that I intend to turn this organization into winners" said the Canes' GM, Matthew Rose, when reached for comment, "I seriously believe that this team can compete for a playoff spot this season". Perhaps they can, but Carolina will need to show some more consistency in stringing wins together.

The Hurricanes play the Flyers next at home where it is widely expected that Andrew Hammond will make his first start of the year.
