Quick Traded to Minnesota
2017-06-21
Today the Winnipeg Jets have traded Goalie Jonathan Quick to the Minnesota Wild. In return the Jets have acquired Forward Ryan Strome and the MIN 4th 2017.
"First of all, I wanna say Thanks to Jonathan Quick for his outstanding play, in every season he has been here. We Have him to thank for us Winning the Cup back in 2015. He was awarded MVP of the Playoffs that year, and he was absolutely fantastic. Just like he has been in the last 3 years he's been here. We Wish him the best in Minnesota. It was time to hand the Reigns over to Andrei Vasilevkiy." Says Schurman.
This deal also helps the Jets get rid of Quicks 7M dollar contract for the next 2 years. The Jets were very close to the cap, without any wiggle room for free agency. Ryan Strome is a promising young forward with top 6 potential at least in him, and is in his last year of his entry level contract.
"We were looking at adding a forward to our mix, to round out the team more. We are happy to welcome Strome to Winnipeg."
