Jets Dynamic Duo Traded This Season
2018-01-19Two Key Pieces to the Jets 2015 Championship have been traded. Big Changes have happened in the last 6 months and looks like the franchise is gonna do a retool or quick rebuild.
Max Pacioretty was shipped out earlier this season for young 3rd line forward Jesper Fast and a WSH 1st 2018 and 2019. With a chance to grab a couple first rounders, it was time to change the team up.
Anze Kopitar was just recently moved to Florida for Leon Draisaitl and Center Prospect Nicolas Roy.
"We were able to gain a great Centerman at a very young age in Leon Draisaitl. He has alot more potential to reach yet in this league, and I am a big fan of his game, and couldn't be happier to bring Draisaitl to Winnipeg! Getting a top prospect in Nicolas Roy will be great for our team too. He has some great size and skill to his game. Can see him being a 2nd line player, or a very good 3rd liner. We still have some vets for trade to help anyone out. Will post trade blocks in the near future on who the Jets will move next." Says Schurman.
"We also would like to thank Pacioretty and Kopitar on there great seasons and accomplishments in Winnipeg. They both have been Key to the Jets success the last 3 seasons and both were instruemental in the 2015 Championship. Kopitar has Lead the team in pts since he became a Jet and Pacioretty led the team in Goals. Best of luck to both of you and thanks for your time in Winnipeg. " Said Schurman.
