Jets Make Blockbuster Move

The Winnipeg Jets and the Minnesota Wild hooked up to complete a huge blockbuster deal.   The Jets have shipped out Elite Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy to the Wild along with a 4th 2021.   In return the Jets recieve one of the top young goalie prospects in the league in Ilya Samsonov, Linus Ullmark, MIN 1st 2020, WNP 4th 2020.

"First off I would like to thank Vasilevskiy for all his time here with the Jets.   I drafted him, he's been an elite goalie for for us, carrying us deep in the playoffs the last 2 seasons.  He was a very tough player to move out.  We Wish him the best in Minnesota"  says Schurman.

"Our season has not went has planned for us here.  We made moves in the offseason hoping to be a top team, or at least a playoff team with a chance at the Cup.   We haven't been able to catch up in the standings, so we figured if there was a time to trade Vasilevkiy now would be the time.   Samsonov I have always been a fan of as well.  If there was a goalie i wanted in return for me to deal Vas, it was Sasmonsov.  I feel he will be a very good #1 goalie in the league, maybe even Elite.  Ullmark is a good goalie too with Starter Capabilities.  Next Season both should provide us a good 1-2 Combo in net, gaining us some Cap Relief as well.   You gotta always look at Salary in todays game, and Sasmonov will be at an entry level contract for us.   The 1st rounder in the deal should also allow us to draft a very nice prospect to add to our organization this summer.  "  Explains Schurman.

Vasilevkiy spent 5 Seasons with the Jets.
