Habs: Team overhaul a sucess??

2011-04-13

After taking the reigns in Montreal which was a .500 team... GM Radowsky was quick to make changes even before his office was ready.. "i am looking to fill the needs of this team.. and move some players that have become too comfortable"... said the new GM.  Saying good bye to some star players as well as role players seems to be what was needed.

It raised some eyebrows when he moved the likes of Ryan Getzlaf, Brooks Orpik and Carey Price... but with saying that he did bring in some big names such as Anze Kopitar, Bobby Ryan, Joe Pavelski and Ryan Miller and also brought in some veteran depth including former Hab Captain Saku Koivu, and a future Star Defenseman Dan Girardi... when asked about his thoughts on his teams performance up til now GM Radowsky responded with " Chemistry is the key, to get a group of guys to play together night in and night out is very important... and these guys have adapted very well to the changes... there may be a few adjustments before the deadline is up but for now i am very satisfied..."  and he should be satisfied with the Canadiens having a record of 28-14-6 since he has been a part of this team.

With  over 20 games left Radowsky isnt taking anything for granted he doesnt only expect to make the playoffs but also go deep for a cup run..."We are a contender.. anything can happen in the playoffs we will be ready....we currently have only 3 less wins than this team had all last season"...  the Media, Fans and some sceptics are starting to think its possible. if you ask the players and management they say its a reality,  they are excited but not over confident...
