The Monster in Tampa Bay

  Tampa Bay, FL, (AP) -  The Tampa Bay Lightning are pleased to announce they have signed Sweedish Goalie Phenom "THE MONSTER" Jonas Guastavsson to a 2 year deal with a signing bonus. We are very pleased to have Jonas joins the organization and we feel he will be a great asset to this organization working along with Pekka Rinne and Craig Anderson, we feel are goaltending situation is set and solid for some years to come. 

    We made some offers to a few players who unfortunaltly decide to sign elsewhere,but we didn't come up empty handed the club re-signed Centermen Mike.Sillinger to a one year deal, and Left Winger Bates.Battaglia to a two year deal. Both players have played hard and given there all to this organization and we are very pleased to have both of them back with us.  The Lightning also signed Left Winger jeremy Reich to a one year deal to play with our affiliate in Norfolk, we are happy to have his experience to help nurture our youngsters in our Farm program.  

   The Lightning re-signed 3 of there RFA Defencemen  Niclas.Kronwall, James Wisniewski as well Dion Phanuef who was signed to an offer sheet by the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, we had brief talks with the Penguins about a possible deal , but when it came right down to it we decided that it was in our best interest for now and into the future to have Dion with this organization and we are pleased to have made this decision!  Gm Boyski has also said he as an offer to RFA Ryan Craig and hopes to have him signed soon!
