Preds Sign on Three FA's

2009-07-26

Preds came to terms with three free agents. Miroslav Satan,  Jonathan Sim, and Greg De Vries all signed to a one year deal with the Preds around Friday evening. This will add in more depth to the team and more experience for the playoffs. Satan will play on the second line or could be used on the third with Sykora or Zubrus. Depends on who Satan has more chemistry. Jonathan Sim has a 50/50 chance on the 4th line with David Perron or Ryan Callahan or he could just be used as a call up if Preds get hit with an injury bug same with Greg De Vries.

Two minor league FA's where also signed but will be used strictly for the Preds farm. Enforcer Cody McLeod agreed to a three year deal and talented goalie Scott Munroe also agreed to a three year deal with the Admirals. Munroe will be the new starting goalie for Milwaukee this season since its been rumored that Chris Mason is being shopped around. This also means Brent Johnson will step in as Backstrom's Backup for Nashville.
