Doughty, Frolik head to the big show in Ottawa 2009-07-29 (AP) To listen to the Senators general manager, Gary Brown, the Stanley Cup celebratory bottles of champagne can be placed on ice. Two important cornerstones of the Senators' quest for the Cup turned pro yesterday by inking entry level contracts. Top-rated defenseman Drew Doughty and "Baby (Jaromir) Jagr" Michal Frolik were brought into the fold. As per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed but it is believed both received the highest amount available under the terms of the 2005 collective bargaining agreement. Center Peter Regin was also signed and will report to the farm team in Binghamton, New York. Meanwhile it was decided not to sign goalie Cory Schneider and winger Max Pacioretty until their OV ratings rise. Pacioretty, who hails from the same hometown (New Canaan, Connecticut) as Brown, in turn reportedly TPed Brown's modest dwelling across the street from the old high school in protest.
