Malkin's Great Return

2009-03-13

The Oilers got Evgeni Malkin back into the Lineup tonight!  Malkin just completed a 5 game suspension, as the Oilers really missed the Leagues best player. Malkin came back ready to rack up the scoresheet as the Oilers layed a whooping on the Dallas Stars.  Malkin had 4 goals and 1 assist tonight for a 5 point night!  The Oilers really missed his offence he bring to the team and it was nice to see him coming back. Malkin extended his point league in the MRFHL to 38 goals, and 91 points in 69 games played. Giving him an 8 point lead over 2nd place Gaborik.  He trails Crosby of the Pens, by 2 goals for league lead in Goals.

However 30 seconds into the game Todd Bertuzzi hooked Brian Campbell and said a few nasty words.  Those words we won't talk about, but Campbell lost his temper and and swung his stick at Bertuzzi, giving him a 2 handed slash to the knee.  The officials kicked him out and he was Suspended by the League for 3 games tonight.

"We admit Campbell went off the deep end here, and he is getting what he deserves, we wish he never did that, because he has been a great defender for us since coming over from Tampa Bay.  However we are displeased the Bertuzzi is not getting nothing for this. I mean a hook is a hook, but his words that he said to Campbell were so drastic, i don't wanna begin. He should be suspended along with Campbell.  We are gonna express our concerns with league officials"  Says an agitated Schurman.
