Jackets Hire Nielson

2010-02-07
The Columbus Blue Jackets are pleased to announce that Dustin Nielson has been hired as the newest General Manager in franchise history. Nielson was quick to give a brief thought on his current line up, "Well there are reasons I came to Columbus players like Vanek, Bogosian, Zajac...these are players that I feel we can build a team around here. There are other players that I don't see being a big part of our future so I will be placing them on the trade block and we will go for there." Nielson also made sure to give his coach a vote of confidence, "Barry Trotz is going nowhere, he has this season left on his contract and after that we will look to bring him back, look...the bottom line is that Trotzy is one of the best coaches in the league, he is a guy who I believe in and I think he can bring us a cup once I give him the right tools to work with."
