Ugly Start to Season for Bruins

2011-12-23

The Boston Bruins have opened the season with a dismal 4-14-3 record.  The Bruins GM has wasted no time to try to ensure the season does not slip away. "We opened the season with great expectations for this club. We have greatly underachieved."

The Bruins dipped deep into their cupboard of youth to acquire Matthew Carle and Raffi Torres for a couple of promising youngsters in Ryan Murphy, Michael St.Croix and a 4th round pick along with MRFHL journey men Jarko Ruutu and Sheldon Brookbank. "We needed to address our depth. We hope this will create some healthy competition for ice time."

Last night the Bruins shipped off Alex Tanguay and Maxim Mayorov for Alexander Semin, Joonas Donskoi and  Jerome Gauthier-Leduc. "We feel we get a little more offensive help with Semin. We hope he can continue to exhibit the two way play he has so far this season and we feel the two guys we landed could help contribute to our club in the future one day."

Rumor Mill: With the Bruins GM making trades to address the chemistry on his team you might wonder how long Claude Julian will remain behind the Boston bench if the Bruins don't get some wins.
