Bruins Acquire Sedins

2012-01-16

The Boston Bruins have acquired the Sedin twins in a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Wild.  The Sedin’s addition come in the wake of one of the Bruins worst starts to the season. Bruins GM had this to say in a recent press conference “This was a big price for us to pay. We have been steadily accumulating prospects over the past year and half in order to ensure we can build for the long term. We felt that the Sedin’s are two of the most dynamic players in the game today and will help push us closer to our goal of MRFHL Champions.”

The Bruins paid a hefty price for both twins. Bruins sent Tomas Vanek, Kristian Huselius, promising young forward Marcus Johansson along with a package of prospects and youth; first round pick Vladislav Namestnikov, Florida Panthers 2nd round pick , Colorado Avalanche’s 3rd round pick and  the Vancouver Canuck’s 4th round pick in this years draft.

This deal helps the Minnesota Wild kick start their rebuilding process and the Boston Bruins take another step towards being a contender.

Despite the recent additions the Bruins have not found the consistency and chemistry to climb back into the top. You can bet that the Bruins will continue to be active in the trade market.

Rumor Mill: It seems that the Boston Bruins are not finished with the recent additions the Boston Bruins might be making a few more moved before settling their roster. Alexander Semin and Jaroslav Spacek might be the odd men out.
