Sens goalie of the future has arrived 2010-03-01 (AP) The Ottawa Senators have been awaiting the arrival of their touted goalie of the future, Cory Schneider, obtained in a last minute trade with Vancouver last season that sent top defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom to the Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile Brian Elliott has been doing yeoman work in the net for the Binghamton Senators as Brian Boucher and Scott Clemmensen have alternated for the parent team. General manager Gary Brown could wait no longer--Elliott was recalled and started against the Islanders, leading the Senators to an impressive 7-2 win. "Brian will most likely be getting a lot of starts for the rest of the season, and most likely will be our primary goalie next year as well," Brown told reporters after the game. That leaves either Boucher or Clemmensen out in the cold, and it appears Boucher will be waived at the end of the season.
