Hawks ink pending free agents Rask and Coburn

2012-06-13

The Chicago Blackhawks, on a day off in the midst of their first round series, announced the signing of two pending restricted free agents. Defenceman Braydon Coburn signed a 3 year deal to remain with the powerhouse, while goaltender Tuukka Rask inked a one year deal. As per club policy terms of the deals were not released.

It is also rumoured that negotiations have stalled with winger Jeff Carter, and are unlikely to resume until the end of the playoffs. "We are focusing on our quest for the cup right now" said GM Semonick. The suggestion that talks have fallen off between the two sides has led to speculation that Carter may not be with the team next season, this is further fuelled by superstar winger Jordan Eberle waiting in the wings.
