Quiet deadline day for Canucks

2010-04-21
Canucks were not able to make any major deals on deadline day, as the only transaction they made was sending Adam Burish to the Canadians along with a 5th round pick for Matt D'Agostini and a 3rd. The Canucks made their splash a couple days earlier when they aquired Matt Carle and Sammy Pahlsson from the same Canadiens for Brian Campbell, Janik Hansen and Drew Miller. The Canucks had been targetting Carle and were happy to finally land him. The deal solidifies the blue line for this season and next as Campbell was scheduled to be a ufa at season's end and especially with the Canucks uncertainty of Lidstroms future with the team past this season. The Canucks had also recently aquired Dustin Byfuglien, Andreas Lilja, Brendan Witt, aaron Rome and some picks in trades earlier in the month. The Canucks hope the changes they made will spark the team to finish the regular season strong and continue that into the playoffs.
