Sharks Conference

2013-07-08

In what is a bright, beautiful sunny day in San Jose, the Sharks, led by their owner and GM Chris Fekete stepped up to the podium to introduce their newest head coach: John MacLean.

"John brings a lot of hockey knowledge and experience to this club. I am very privileged to have him as our next head coach of the San Jose Sharks. Without any further ado, here is the man of the hour, Mr. John MacLean."

After answering some questions, a reporter asked the situation involving Luongo and whether or not he knew about the coaching change.

MacLean: "No, him, as well as everyone else on this hockey team isnt aware until now of me joining this organization. I felt this was a great opportunity to be a part of and I look forward to be part of a franchise that has great fans.

It remains to be seen what kind of moves the Sharks make this offseason but all signs point to this team perhaps getting younger, adding some prospects to their what seems to be limited cupboard. All in all, dont expect the Sharks to have a great season like they had this year. Perhaps this is the start of whats known as a rebuild? Their core players arent getting any younger and their isnt much in the way of youth on this team. Chris has his hands full but knows that he doesnt want to try and BUY his team thru free agency, thats the worst thing he could do. Develop, make low risk, high reward signings and the rest is history.
