Roster Moves

2013-10-24

Not getting off to the hot start he wanted the Bruins GM has made shaken the roster up. The first casualty was 36 year old Mikael Samuelsson who was placed on waivers this evening. Samuelsson is in the final year of a $3 million dollar contract and set to become UFA. Samuelsson has underperformed so far registering 1 assist in the first 9 games. The Bruins also sent Alex Burmistrov and pre-season sensation Max Reinhart down to Providence and called up T.J. Galiardi and Eric Tangradi. Despite a strong pre season showing it seems Max Reinhart will be sent to providence where he can get more ice time and develop into the two way player the Bruins want him to be.

Claude Julian has been experimenting with line combinations in practice and one of the most interesting was putting T.J.  Galiardi on the top line with Zetterberg and Tavares in hopes of getting Zetterberg going. With Carolina coming to town Julian also confirmed Jonathan Bernier will make his season debut for the Bruins. Coach Julien spoke highly of Bernier "Jonathan has been strong in practice, he has been patiently waiting for his chance."  It remains to be seen if this will turn into a goalie controversy or if Julien will be roatating the hot hand in the crease.
