Open Letter To Bruins Fans

2013-12-30

Dear Bruins Fans,

On behalf of the entire Boston Bruins Hockey Club, I would like to extend a sincere thank you for your continued loyalty and support.

Heading into the 2013-14 MRFHL season we assembled a team we felt would contend for the MRFHL Stanley Cup. Despite being aggressive in attempting to turn our early season fortunes around with acquisitions like Claude Giroux, Pascal Dupis and Matt Cooke, we sit at the very bottom of the league with a meager 12 wins and total of 28 points.

We have failed to fulfill your hopes and meet your expectations. We have failed you.

Since taking over as General Manager of the Boston Bruins I have strived to put together a team which would not only win but be a perennial contender. With the longest serving Bruin, Jonathan Toews as our leader I felt we would overcome any obstacle.

I am writing to you today to notify you personally that both the Boston Bruins organization and Jonathan Toews have come to a mutual agreement to part ways in order to usher in a new era full of hope and promise. Though this could be our darkest day in recent memory, I assure you that the night is darkest before the dawn.

We want to thank Jonathan for the great memories he has provided to our fans and wish him the very best on his future endeavours. He will be missed.

Although the loss of Jonathan Toews will be hard to overcome, we know that John Tavares has shown he is ready to captivate your imagination and take over as our leader franchise for the years to come.

Bigger challenges and larger opportunities await our team.

Sincerely,

Steven Valente

President and General Manger
