Islanders Get The Boys

2014-08-04

In a WILD turn of events simply 3 days after acquiring Mike Cammaleri along with Shane Doan for Eric Brewer and Milan Michalek the voodoo window opened up seeing a HUGE blockbuster deal which saw Mike return to the Ducks alongside Andre Sekera and prospects for Henrik, Daniel, Danault a young goaltender along with picks in the upcoming and next years respective drafts. When asked about the recent deal Islanders General Manager Robert Jacklin had the following statement.

"Well it was a tough decision because acquiring Mike was the key part of moving Milan to the Ducks organization. But having the opportunity to make a move that brings in the type of players like Henrik & Daniel are is undeniably a great opportunity. When I took over this organization it was in shambles with shallow holes all over its roster and prospect pool.

In moving Henrik Lundqvist and Ryan Kesler we have been able to create depth in the prospects as well as on the roster and position ourselves in a spot that we could very well re-tool this franchise on the fly and be able to compete for the playoffs. With Roberto Luongo at the helm, Henrik & Daniel on the top line and Doan overlooking it all we here on New York feel like the future is bright and the opportunities are closer then anticipated"

So what does this mean? Are the Islanders done and awaiting responses from current Unristriced Free Agents or is this simply a move to initiate the fall of the dominos on Long Island. For TSN I'm Ribbi Shibbi signing off.
