Nature Boy All Star Champs!

2015-02-01

The MRFHL All Star Final took place in Winnipeg Sunday afternoon.  Its been a greeat weekend and now the City of Winnipeg gets one last game, for braggin rights in the MRFHL.

Jason Spezza and Anze Kopitar started strong against Team Host.   It looked like right away that this duo would be to tough to handle for Team Host.  Spezza opened the scoring at 7:41 of the 1st period with Kopitar and Pominville getting the Assist.    Team Nature Boy would end up leadig 3-0 after one period of play outshooting team Host 17-8.

As the 2nd period began, Alex Ovvechkin got his team on board, narrowing the gap to 3-1.  But it wasn't too long after that Nature Boy responded with 2 more goals gviing them a 5-1 advantage.    By this time it didn't look like Team Host had what it took to come back and defeat Team Nature Boy.   Nature Boy continued to generate offense and shots for the rest of the game, and ended up being the 2015 MRFHL ALL STAR CHAMPS.    Defeating Team Host by a score of 9-4.   Anze Kopitar was 1st star of the Game with 4 goals and 2 assists.   2nd Star went to Jason Spezza who had 2 goals and 3 assists.  Backstrom was 3rd star with 2 goals.

Overall it was a great weekend in Winnipeg.  The City and Schurman would like to thank the MRFHL for letting Winnipeg Host, Everyone enjoyed it throughout the city and organization.    Congrats to the ALL STAR CHAMPS:  Team Nature Boy!!!!!
