Oilers Make a bold move for the future

2015-07-20

After the Edmonton Oilers had a night of bad luck which saw Conner Mcdavid slip through there fingers. The Oilers were more than happy to select Jack  Eichel. Then 2 days before the day of the draft the Red Wings  came calling.. after the dust settled the Edmonton Oilers moved the 2nd overall pick to the Red Wings for Nikolaj Ehlers, Anthony Duclair , 7th overall , 21st overall and the 33rd pick in the draft.

7th overall - Lawson Crouse
Projection: No. 2 Power Winger
Lawson has unique skills and abilities and while he may not have prolific offensive capabilities, he has a game where he will create offensive opportunities in multiple ways. A smart, strong skater with power and a great desire to create room and space with purposeful play.  One of the few power players in draft.
NHL Comparable: Andrew Ladd, Winnipeg Jets

21st overall - Jack Roslovic
Projection: No. 2-3 Industrious Winger
His game can be described as complementary but he carries a lot of strong play on his own. Plays a straight ahead, competitive game and he reads the game and reads off his line mates very well  and then makes the play that gets the most out of the situation. Can play all situations and he doesn’t allow himself to be denied.
NHL Comparable: Chris Kunitz, Pittsburgh Penguins

31st Pick John Klingberg
Assets:     An offensive defenseman with a big shot from the point, he's also a smooth skater with good instincts. Can be a real asset on the power play. Doesn't lack in confidence with the puck.
Career Potential:     Talented offensive defenseman with upside.
Career Stats:      GP     G     A     Pts     +/-     PIM
