Habs draft review

The canadiens started the draft by trading nicklas hjarlmasson to the toronto maple leafs in return for jake mccabe and scott mayfield .  At number 8 he canadiens seected a 6f3 centermen pavel sacha , at number 18 habs went off the board to select a puck movng defenceman and buddy of habs prospect nikita scherbak noah julsen . at n.30 habs went big again and selected big 6f4 winger paul Bittner. At n44 and 62 gm boudreau selected a pair of puck moving dmen  in rasmus andersson and mitch vande somple. At 98 habs gm was happy to draft another scoring winger in adam helewka followed at 112 by anthony richard . Habs finished the draft with selecting another dman at n 127 carl neill .

Coming into the draft habs gm mentioned that the def was the habs weakness and that he wanted to fix that with the addition of mccabe , mayfield , julssen , andersson and vande somple to a group of prospect like morrisey , bigras , morin  we now believe the habs def is no longer a wekness.

After the draft gm boudreau wasnt done he sent philly 1st rnd pick along with nick baptiste to buffalo for jake muzzin
