Rose Makes First Big Splash As Canes Acquire Star Forward

2016-07-13

Raleigh, NC

July 13, 2016

A huge acquisition was announced today as it was announced that the Carolina Huricanes acquired star forward Zach Parise from the New York Rangers. In return, they sent the rights to Matt Carle and Jamie McGinn. This was the splash made by new Hurricanes GM, Matthew Rose.

Rose was reached for comment from his summer vacation home in Barbados. "We are so thrilled to have a player of Zach's caliber join our organization" he said confidently," I mentioned right from my hiring that my primary goal was to bring a league championship to Carolina. With the addition of Zach, we feel that we can boast a much better offensive lineup from what it was last season".

When asked about the loss of Carle's rights and McGinn, Rose had some heartfelt comments. "Jamie was really good for us last year, and I really had a tough time sending him back to New York. Matt is a great defenseman and I know he'll do well should he re-sign in New York. I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them soon (as long as they don't beat us)".

Time will tell how this deal affects both teams but Canes fans sure seemed to be excited to hear the announcement of this deal and Parise will hopefully be welcomed with open arms.
