The Canes Strike Back

2018-05-07

-Raleigh, NC.

After two consecutive losses to open up their Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series against the Penguins, the future looked bleak for the Hurricanes. That all changed Sunday night as the Hurricanes held on to a 3 goal lead to eventually win Game 3 by a score of 4 to 2. Going into Game 4, the Hurricanes will be looking to even up their series at 2 games apiece.

The Hurricanes scored 2 Power Play goals in the second period and added another early in the third period. The Penguins struck back with two of their own before Matt Cullen's 6th of the playoffs sealed the win. "I thought we played an excellent game, our best of the series so far" said Willie Desjardins, following the game, "in our first two games I thought we struggled to shut down their big line and especially their power play unit. We were able to succeed in shutting them down tonight. Special teams are so important and we were the better team tonight."

"This series is a first to 4 wins and there is still a ways to go" said captain, Henrik Sedin, "we are feeling great in front of our own crowd and we are going to continue to ride that going into Game 4. We've proved before that we can play against these guys and now it's just a matter of execution".

GM Matthew Rose was unavailable for comment as he went back to his superstition of not speaking to the media during a playoff series.

Game 4 takes place on Tuesday night and the Hurricanes will be opening the doors at 6 with pre-game festivities taking place outside the rink. Limited tickets available so get them now! This Canes team needs their home crowd now more than ever!
