Washington ready to deal, but no callers

2026-02-26

As the trade deadline is approaching the Capitals continue to look for trade partners to move out some of their players.  Note The Capitals Trade Block for a complete listing.   The list hasn't changed much since first posted and really haven't had too many conversations to move them for picks or prospects or just even younger players.

Oh well, this is just a continuation of trying to get out of the middle of the pack.  I do noy see a problem taking the Capitals to the bottom of the division next season, if it means we can get some good prospects for the future.   As we have staed in the past the goal in Washington is not to be 'okay' , but to see the Capitals fighting for the Stanley Cup.  Right now I look at the roster and do not see a top level team and not a team that a simple trade or two will get us anywhere in the playoffs.   Therefore we need  a major change to our rosters and improvements to our up coming prospects.

The Capitals have had a fair amount of success in recent playoffs but I can not see this being a trend.  We must have a big turnover of both of our rosters to get this organization into the upper level. So if your teams is looking to twick your roster for the playoffs, take a look at the Capitals' trade block and make me an offer.  I will respond as soon as I see it and get to a computer.

Go Capitals!
