Hawks Make Minor Move

After several very quiet weeks in terms of player movement, the Chicago Blackhawks completed a minor trade with new Montreal managment. The Hawks sent minor league center Evan Brophey to the Habs in exchange for prospect Ryan Martindale. Martindale possesses excellent size and a very high skill level, however suffers from bouts of inconsistent play. Brophey was well liked by Hawks management, but was buried in the teams stacked development system. The move will allow him a much better shot at reaching the big league in a depth role.

It is believed the Hawks are still looking to add a top-3 defenceman to the fold, and will continue to explore options on that front.
