Stamkos Has Big Night

Steve Stamkos had a huge game  scoring 4 of the Canucks 5 first period goals in a 7-4 drubbing against the NY Islanders.  Two of those goals were on the power play.  Zach Parise and Corey Perry each had 3 assist while Alex Ovechkin and Brent Seabrook both chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Stamkos came close to adding a 5th goal on the night late in the third period with a disallowed goal that went to video replay .

The Canucks hope Stamkos continues his fine play as they look to face their division rivals the Edmonton Oilers.  The Oilers have won their last 3 games , one of them against the Canucks that ended in a 2-1 final but included a brawl that saw 2 Canucks receive game misconducts.  It will be interesting to see if that adds a little edge to the up coming game.
