Preds Send Nucks Packing

2009-04-16

Preds win game seven with a 4-1 win last night over the Vancouver Canucks. This was a battle to the bitter end with Nash leading the Nucks by 3-1 in the series after game four and thought they had the Canucks where they wanted them but just before it was all said and done Kipper turns things around and brought the Canucks right back in it during games 5 and 6 to tie the series and play a final game seven which had the Pred fans worried that the Canucks would end Nashville's chances of going on to round 2.

The 08/09 Centrel Divison Champs where not going to give up with out a fight. The Preds showed the Canucks how much they wanted to make it to the next round by scoring 4 power play goals that ended the Canucks chances of making a come back.

If our team plays as well as they did last night killing penalties and scoring on power plays we can make it right to the finals with no problems but it also really depends if Niklas Backstrom can improve his game and The #1 in goal like he did during the regular season.

The Preds GM also stated that the teams Captian Daymond Langkow and his line mate Jason Pominville also need to start improving more if they intend to make it through the next round agaisn't the San Jose Sharks. We would like to see the Preds play smarter in special teams and concentrate more on playing aggressive in the power play department so it doesn't come down to another game seven. Ending in a positive note we are proud to see players like our top Defenseman (Roman Hamrlik) lead the team in points and the Preds younger stars like Camalleri, O'Sullivan, and Paul Ranger step it up when the team needs it the most.

I would like to thank Rino on a good 1st round series and look forward to another one in the second.

Nashville GM,
